Chalo lekar apni Tobu Cycle. Welcome.

When Gold Spot was the zing thing, Rabbit was a sythentic gum, Pepsi Cola was flavoured ice in a little cylindrial plastic bag, Made In India was a hit song, Kachh-limbu was the kid who was weak at sports, Chacha Choudhary's brain was faster than a computer and Mithunda was a hero....that was the time I grew up in...the 80s and 90s.

This blog is basically a compilation of my childhood days, a lot of which is inspired by articles, blogs, web sites, forums, music and photographs of the 80s and 90s that I have been come across over the last couple of years.

I've been reminded of so many interesting tidbits of those times and always thought of putting all those memories down in one place. This is the beginning of what I hope becomes....well i don't know what....probably just a trip down memory lane, to start with.

Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers, the next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul.

Also, a common player in cricket was the guy who got to bat frm both sides...ironically, no one liked being the common player cuz that meant u sucked at the game!

hehe!!.. i grew up in New Delhi around the 90's.And all the stuff including the DD shows and the bus waale bhaiyas that u have talked about brings back those nostalgic memories. One thing I distinctly remember that got really popular was "Tandarusti ki Rakshaa Karta Hai Lifebuoy ___________(fill in the blanks)".Not sure if anyone is cheap and (un)classy enough to remember "raj comics", super commando dhruv and nagraaj. And also if people can still recall the title song of "jungle Book",Sunday 10 Am, everything used to come to standstill in my "colony" and when sometimes they wouldn't show it cos some stupid cricket game was on, me and my friends would complain while playing cricket ourselves in a place we used to called "gallery" for no particular reason(it was just some vacant space that seperated one block of flats from another). We would only complain for a little while until someone's mom would shout out, betaa!! ghar aa jaao, India ki batting aa gayi hai.
