I wonder what the Indipop singers of the 90s are doing now? I saw Suneeta Rao and Mehnaaz recently in Bombay. It's true you know, you don't realise the value of something until it is gone. I looked at those two and thought how it would be so great to have the 90s Indipop music back, instead of Himesh 'Nasal' Reshammiya doing his bison mating call..... oooooo oooooooo ooooo.
Both Suneeta Rao and Mehnaaz had one song that I loved and one that I hated.
SR: loved Pari Hoon Mai, hated Kesariya
M: loved Mausam, hated Banoongi Main Miss India

Anamika eeeeks! She was Himesh Reshammiya's master when it came to nasal-giri....Koi na dekhe meri cyaatwonk! The video for the song after Catwalk, was shot at Gera Plaza in Pune. Vikas Bhalla! I am kinda embarrassed of it now, but I admit I used to have a crush on him. He had good music ok! I liked the way he said 'awara' in his song Awara. Bas dhuan hai dhuan was also a nice song
Alisha Chinai. You can't forget Made In India. But can you remember Auva Auva? The Indian version of Video Killed the Radio Star? Chinai sang it..... Auva Auva, tumse hai tumse pyar!

It's funny how I was going through old songs on youtube from the 90s and in searching for some lyrics came across your blog. I loved so many of the pop songs during that time. It's weird how we hardly have any decent pop songs now. And ever since movies have introduced remixes in the original cds, no one bothers making those either.
Of the ones you've mentioned, I loved Pari Hoon Main, Kesari (it's so peppy, why did you hate it?), Jonny Jonny Joker, Boom Boom, etc. I need to listen to the rest to remember the tunes. But I think I liked majority of what I heard. Apparently I also loved a lot of slow songs by , etc. lol. And there was a song that I was searching for today and finally found it, "Chamak Chan Chan" by Yasudas. I used to find it cute. Guess I was very much into the idea of boy meets girl, they fall in love, live happily ever after. :P I still love his voice. Not sure if any of you saw the serial Sanjivani. The guy in the video was the first Rahul (lead character - Gaurav Chanana) and the second Rahul (Mihir Mishra) that replaced him was in yet another video "jab saamne tum aa jate ho". You can add that to your trivia. :D
Another song that was awesome - "Nasha Hi Nasha Hai" by sukwinder singh. <3 Sad video tho.
